Dr.  Andrea Andersen

Dr. Andersen was born in Guelph, Canada and raised in Toronto, Canada. She graduated from LSU with a degree in Biological Sciences in 2004 and with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She has worked at the Garden District Animal Hospital, under Dr. Thomas C. Stuckey Jr., since she was 19 years old.  In 2011, after graduating from vet school and enjoying several years of mentorship, she bought the clinic from Dr. Stuckey.  

Dr. Andersen has been married for 8 years to Daniel, and has one son, Haydn (a.k.a. “Moose”) who is 6 years old. She loves to travel, especially to visit friends and family. She also likes spending time with her husband and son watching movies and riding bikes. Dr. Andersen has a Mastiff named Bruce that is a rescue. She also has a chameleon, Blondie, and a fish, Water. 

Dr. Heather Harkins

Dr. Heather Harkins is from Port Allen, Louisiana; she went to school at St Joseph's Academy and LSU.  She graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She was awarded "Excellence in Surgery and Medicine" prior to graduating in 2006. She was then accepted into one-year internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialist in Greensboro, North Carolina. Dr. Harkins worked outside of Atlanta for 10 years before joining the Garden District Animal Hospital team in 2017.  Her special interest in veterinary medicine include preventive behavior disorders, cardiology, internal medicine, and dermatology. She enjoys outdoors activities, such as camping, hiking, skiing, and whitewater rafting and spending time with her daughters Leila and Isabelle and loving dog, Barkley.


Dr. Cassan Pulaski

Dr. Pulaski is originally from Mandeville and has been with Garden District Animal Hospital since October 2013. She received her B.S. (Biology) and B.A. (Psychology) degrees from the University of Mississippi in 2008. She then completed her Master's of Public Health and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees in 2012 and 2013, respectively, at LSU. Dr. Pulaski has a special interest in parasitology, specifically heartworm disease, and when she's not at Garden District Animal Hospital, she is working on a dual PhD - residency program in clinical veterinary parasitology at LSU. She married Justin, an environmental scientist, in 2015, and they currently have 2 cats, Fugee and Parchman.
Dr. Wendy Day
Dr. Wendy Day was born and raised in Baton Rouge. She graduated from the LSU Veterinary School in 2008 in the same class as Dr. Andersen. While at LSU, she was a caretaker for Mike V and Mike VI. Her medical interests are dentistry, opthalmology, soft tissue surgery, and emergency care. Dr. Day joined the Garden District team in 2016 and currently works relief for several veterinary hospitals in Baton Rouge. She is married to Rusty, and they have a daughter, Rayne. She has 3 dogs (Ruger, Trigger, and Baci), 4 cats (Smudge, Riley, Maya, and V), and a tortoise (Chel).
